A Simple Guide to Keeping Your Home Tidy

If you’re like most people, you probably have too much stuff. If you’re like most people, you probably don’t have enough storage space to store all your stuff. This can lead to a lot of clutter in your home, which can be very frustrating and stressful. In this blog post, we’ll discuss some simple tips to help you keep your home tidy!

1. Make sure your spring cleaning is in order

The first step in spring cleaning is getting organized. This may seem like a daunting task, but it’s actually pretty easy if you follow our spring cleaning guide.

Start by listing all the areas in your home that you want to clean. Once you have your list, start by working on one field at a time. Don’t try to do everything at once or you’ll get overwhelmed and get nowhere!

2. Stay on top of your emails

One of the quickest ways to create chaos at home is to let your mail pile up. Before you know it, you have a ton of bills, catalogs, and junk mail that you can’t seem to sort through. To avoid letting your mail get out of hand, please open and process it as soon as you walk in.

Sort it through quickly, then recycle junk mail, file bills, or take action on items that need your attention. Dealing with your mail right away will help you keep your home neat and tidy.

3. Make sure you donate any old clothes

One of the best things you can do when tidying up your home is to donate any old clothes. Not only will this free up more space in your closet, but it will also make you feel good knowing your old clothes will be giving away to those who need them.

If you have any clothes that are too damaged to donate, you can always throw them away. Just make sure you get rid of anything you don’t need or want.

Another tip for organizing your home is to throw away any old furniture you no longer use. If you have an old sofa or coffee table that you never use, it might be time to get rid of it. There are three options: donate, sell or discard. Just make sure you don’t get hung up on things you don’t need.

4. Put some organized products

If you’re like me, you probably have some finishing products. Whether it’s a nifty new label maker you just had to have, or a bunch of beautiful baskets that are “perfect” for this or that project, we’ve got it all. There’s nothing wrong with that! But the question is, are we using them?

If you don’t use them, it’s time to get rid of them. We all have a place in our home where things tend to pile up. For me, it’s the counter in my kitchen. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve bought pretty baskets or litter boxes thinking they’d help me keep my counters clean. But you know what? They never have. Ultimately, I just have a bunch of stuff taking up space I don’t need.

If you have products that you don’t use, get rid of them. Donate, sell or discard. It seems like a waste, but trust me, it’s worth it. You will feel better knowing that you are not clinging to useless things.

5. Allow one or two clutter areas

Almost everyone has at least one or two areas in their home that are prone to confusion. For some, it’s the kitchen countertop; for others, it’s the top of a vanity or coffee table. It’s totally fine!

Just don’t clutter your entire house. Instead, allow one or two “clutter areas” where you can keep items that are not well organized. And make sure to clean up any clutter that builds up in these areas on a regular basis.

Another tip for keeping your home tidy is to designate a place for everything. This will help you know where your items belong and make it easier to put them away when you’re done. For example, create a “junk drawer” for all those miscellaneous items that don’t seem to fit anywhere else. Alternatively, invest in some stylish baskets or bins to store items like blankets, pillows, and blankets.

So there you have it! A few simple tips can help you keep your home tidy. Just remember to open and dispose of the mail as soon as you get it, throw out any old clothes or furniture you don’t need, and set aside a “clutter zone” or two in your home.
