How to easily install a zipper

Whether you’re a sewing lover or not, sometimes you may need to zip up your own. Sewing with a zipper isn’t easy, but it’s not as complicated as most of us think. You just need time and practice to get used to this task.

When sewing with zippers, you will most likely have to use zipper feet. This allows you to sew closer to the zipper for a cleaner look. You can use 2 things to secure the zipper before sewing. The first is with glue and the second is with pins. If this is your first time sewing with a zipper, it will be much easier to use glue.

Apply glue to both sides of the zipper, but avoid the zipper teeth. Next, place it lightly over the crimp seam, making sure the teeth are centered on the seam. When you’re okay with the position of the zipper, press down on the iron to secure it.

Sew from the right side of the fabric to the edge of the zipper. Do the same thing on the other side, being careful not to hit the bottom of the zipper.
