How To Grow Date Palms From Seed (Video)

Date palms can be great houseplants until moved outdoors. They add a nice green color to the home and are easy to get fresh palm seeds (after dates) from most supermarkets in the US.

route:

1. Soak the seeds for 24 to 48 hours. Change the water once or twice, then use a sharp knife or tweezers to remove any debris from the pulp.
2. Put the vermiculite in a plastic sandwich box (or plastic bag). Sprinkle with a few teaspoons of water. Then put in the seeds and mix.
3. Seal the box or bag and place in a warm environment
4. Check the seeds every few days. Add a few drops of water only when the vermiculite is very dry. Wait until the seeds germinate…
5. Plant the seeds in small pots filled with compost. Bury them under the surface and water carefully (don’t drown them!)
6. Keep warm and wait.
