How to Host a Successful Spring Garden Party

It’s decided, the good weather is back and you’ll be hosting all your friends and family in the garden. Even outside, a garden party needs to be held. Sure, there will be kids running around and wearing glasses on the lawn, but there’s nothing stopping you from entertaining the right way because garden parties have their own rules. The first is joy. For everyone else, here are some little guides on what you need to do and what shouldn’t be forgotten to make your party perfect.

1. Avoid stress

Of course, guests will need to confirm their attendance so you can buy enough food and drink, but unlike traditional meals, at garden parties, hours are flexible. Sometimes people invited at noon stay until evening. So plan a little more.

2. It’s all about the theme!

From snacks to decor, and possibly a dress code: choose an original theme for your garden party. The tropical atmosphere is very trendy, even more appropriate if you are lucky enough to have a swimming pool.

Dare to use pink flamingo items and pineapple and watermelon patterns. Guests may prefer to relax and follow a theme at a garden party than more formal indoor dining.

3. Transform your garden

Not enough chairs for everyone? Don’t worry, create a cozy outdoor area and create a lounge in your garden with comfy cushions, table trays, and maybe even a rug. If you have a garden shed or small garden office, consider using this room for your garden party, for example, for someone who might be a little cold outside.

You’ll be delighted to see the versatility of these wooden structures! Spring can be a little chilly, so provide your guests with plaid and a heater.

4. Prepare the dishes in advance

Now is not the time to show off your cooking skills or you’ll be stuck in the kitchen for the whole party instead of enjoying the garden. Instead, think of appetizers like salmon rolls, bruschetta, mini soups, and fruit brochettes that your guests can eat sitting or standing.

From hot chocolate to mocktails, there are hot and cold beverages for every taste!

5. Decorate the table

To make dining more enjoyable, you can place a rug under the table and cushions on the chairs. A tablecloth, its color and pattern will be the starting point for your table decoration unless of course you have a theme.

Choose centerpieces and napkins accordingly. To give your garden party a rustic feel, you can distill vintage-inspired tableware, such as vases, mismatched brocades, and plates.

6. Don’t forget the music

Garden parties are also the perfect time to relax and dance. There is no party without music! Provide a sound system, or rather, a speaker or a system that takes the sound outside. You can hide them carefully behind plants.

A good concert at the start of the party makes the guests feel comfortable and upbeat. Plan a “feel good” playlist that’s both happy and neutral.
