This is an easy project – time to get out your sewing machine and sew yourself a beautiful spring/summer dress! I never thought I could make such beautiful clothes so fast. try it?

Material:
a proper tank
about 2 yards of cloth
Elastic thread, coordination thread
Scissors or rotary cutter and pad ruler and chalk

Step by step:
1. The first step is to try on your vest and mark the smallest part of your waist. From here, mark down 1/2 inch.
Using your chalk and ruler, mark a straight line around the entire tank, 1/2 inch from your smallest point. Cut along the chalk line.

2. Using the bottom of the tank you just cut off, cut a 3″ strip. (I used the entire width of the tank).
Wind the bobbin by hand with elastic thread, adjust the stitch length to maximum, and sew down from the center of the 3-inch strip. It will start to wrinkle, but when you heat it with the iron it will wrinkle more.
Center this frilly 3″ strap on the tank and secure in place. Sew the center with coordinating thread.

3. Take the largest part of your hip, multiply by 1.5, divide by 2.. This gives the width of the skirt. The length is your desired length plus 2 inches. You need to cut two rectangles using these measurements.
(Example: My widest point is 39″. Multiply by 1.5 = 58.5. Divide by 2 = 29.25. I want my length to be about 25″ (I plan to make it shorter at the hem if I want!), So adding 2″ gives me 27″. So, I cut two 29.25″ x 25″ rectangles.
You’ll put the two right-facing rectangles together and sew the seams on the sides (25″ sides).
Once your skirt is formed, extend your stitch length to maximum and sew a basting/gather stitch along the top of your skirt. Then you’ll gather the top of the skirt until its width matches the width of your tank.

4. MAKE YOUR SKIRT WRONG-SIDE OUT AND YOUR VEST RIGHT SIDE OUT, attach your tank top to the inside of the skirt, matching the side seams and raw edges. Sew all the way. Make sure you don’t stretch your tank top to fit the skirt, stretch (or re-gather) the skirt to fit the tank top.
Flip it over and you’re almost done!

5. To make a cute belt, you need to cut two 12″ WOF* strips. Sew the short ends of these strips together to form a looooong 12″ strip.
Fold their right sides together and sew all the way down the long end to form a tube. With your fabric facing out, tuck in the raw edge of each end, press, thimble.
Find the center point of your dress and belt. Pin your belt to your skirt and tuck your belt up with your hands so it’s not straight.
Sew it in place. You can repeat this for both side seams if you wish.
Tie it into a bow and voila! you are done! 】
