This bath mat is much simpler than it looks! Look for an IKEA trim kit (or a similar brand) that has been squared. The pieces are designed to join together to form a complete deck, but you only need a back. Create the mat of the size and shape you want, then choose whether you want to connect the pieces or make the mat stackable for easy movement. If you want it to look very clean, use the tool to remove the links around the outer edges.

Cut three old towels into vertical strips of any length. First, take strips of each color (or any three strips, if you choose the same towel) and sew the ends together. Braid these strips, and as you read the end, grab more and braid them to continue. When you’ve done all the strokes and have a long rope, sew those ends together too shape the rope into a spiral and sew it into place!
