Dress up your desk with these cute little pencil holders and make some to give as gifts.
Remember to recycle paper cores or tubes from kitchens, toilets, badminton courts, craft rooms or writing desks, don’t throw them away!
Material:
1. Paper core x 1
2. Thick cardboard x 1
3. Tibetan yarn
4. Tibetan Felt
5. Masking tape
6. Craft glue/PVA glue/white glue
instruct:
1. Draw the circumference of the tube on heavy cardboard. Cut out the circle. Attach the circle to the bottom of the paper tube with tape.
2. Cut a piece of felt and glue it to the base with craft glue.
3. Let it sit for a few minutes or until the felt is well adhered to the base before you start rolling the yarn around the tube.
4. Glue the yarn from the top. If you find the yarn a little difficult to attach to the tube, wait until the glue is tacky before wrapping the yarn. Getting started is always the hardest part of the project.
5. After wrapping several times, turn the tube upside down and continue wrapping. I find it easier to work from the bottom up than from the top. You can change the color of the yarn or keep just one color.
7. When the yarn is firmly attached to the tube, decorate the pencil holder with trim. Once everything is dry, place the pencil holder on the table to keep it still.
