DIY Beautiful and Delicious Apple Roses

How delicious does this look? ! I would make this as a wonderful weeknight breakfast treat. I think the easiest way is to use premade crescent rolls and wrap the apples in and bake. Impress your guests with this beautiful rose-shaped dessert, made with lots of soft and delicious apple slices wrapped in a sweet and crispy meringue.

Ingredients for making the 6 roses in the video:

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 red organic apples (I used red delicious)
  • half a lemon, juiced
  • 1 tablespoon flour, for sprinkling on the counter
  • 3 tablespoons apricot preserves
  • cinnamon (optional)
  • Powdered sugar for decoration (optional)

Here’s another version of Homemade Apple Rose. enjoy~

Ingredients (about 11 roses):

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (approximately 250 g – 1/2 lb, can be more)
  • 3 apples (whichever you prefer, I used ‘Golden Delicious’)
  • 5 tablespoons granulated white sugar (or brown sugar, or a mix of both)
  • 1 tbsp vanilla sugar (or 1 tsp vanilla extract)
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 lemon (juice and zest)
  • 2 tbsp warm apricot jam

pace:

  1. Cut the apples into very thin slices.
  2. Put the apples in a saucepan, cover with warm water, add 2 tablespoons of sugar and lemon juice. Boil the water (no more than 2 minutes) until the apple slices are soft and elastic.
  3. Drain the apples in a strainer and place on a clean cloth or paper towel to dry and cool (I let them sit for 15 minutes)
  4. Mix 3 tablespoons sugar with cinnamon, vanilla sugar and lemon zest. Arrange (or roll into) the puff pastry sheet on a baking sheet, sprinkle with the sugar-cinnamon mixture, and cut 1.5cm/1/2in. wide stripes with a pastry cutter.
  5. Preheat the oven to 390F/200C and bake for 25-30 minutes, until they are golden brown. Now brush the still warm roses with the hot apricot jam (just reheat in the microwave).
