DIY Yarn Pendant Lamp Shade – Ball Pendant Light (Video)

We’ve been trying to get clever with simple, easy, and wonderful DIY projects to brighten up our home decor, and today we’re going to make a hanging lighting feature using some of the yarn scraps you have left over from your crochet projects. We have tried many yarn crafts and similar yarn ball projects before but this time the idea of wrapping the yarn around the bottom opening as a lamp shade was very challenging. Also, it’s super easy to dip a full roll of yarn into the glue bowl to get our yarn into a ball next time. The whole project is easy and cheap, all we need is yarn, glue, and a big old bouncy ball. Brief instructions on how to create your own:

Have all supplies ready, yarn, twine or twine, and glue. Try bright colors, like Hostess with the Mostess did for their party decor yarn pendant lights.

2. Get a bouncy ball the size you want. Use your marker to make two clear marks on both ends of the ball so you can insert the stand strings in place for the large opening at the bottom of the lantern and the small opening at the top.

3. Put the whole thread in the glue bowl, wrap the ball with the whole thread roll, carefully tuck the end of the thread in, pour the rest of the glue on top, this will make the lantern stronger or harder . Wait until you try (it may take a day or two for the glue to try and escape the ball from the sphere.

4. Hang the light fixture with light pegs, metal buckle connectors and washers. Insert the prepared holder into the lantern and get the string out into place. Try the twine version with written instructions, also included in our Lighting Features range. They are a great addition to your room, balcony, and any party decoration.
