Here’s a fun knitting project – knit a sweater for your hen. It was born out of Wild Hen/Bird Rescue to keep those bald hens warm during the cold winter months. If you know the basic stocking stitch (body) and garter stitch (side), you can probably figure out how to knit a pullover in no time. Now that some of us have chickens in our own backyards or as pets, you can weave some (or with the kids) as special gifts for them, especially those chicks. There are two patterns, one is the pullet pattern and the second is the Nanny Norths Version, the Nanny is adapted from the pullet pattern, to make it easier to follow, the neck part is changed so we don’t need to crochet specially when we don’t know how When crocheting. You can choose one of them, but the second is recommended for beginners to start with.

Material:

• Double knitting yarn (100g can make about 3 pullovers)
• 2 buttons per jumper
• 1 pair of gauge 8 (4mm) knitting needles and 4mm crochet hooks
