Before all the next, I will tell you one of the most important tips for planting sweet potato vines-directly cutting the stems and plants, believe it or not? !

This is a nice little project to do with the kids. Sweet potatoes are simple and cheap to grow. We can use these plants for home decoration, very suitable for kitchen window sills.

Just follow the steps below and you will have beautiful sweet potato vines. By the way, do you know that sweet potato leaves can be eaten?

How to do it:

  1. Take a sweet potato with a few eyes.
  2. Insert four or more toothpicks or shortened skewers into the middle of the potato. Suspend the potato in a wide-mouth glass jar, and place a toothpick on the edge of the glass to support the potato. Fill the jar with water until it covers some of the eyes at the bottom of the potato.
  3. Place the jar in the filtered area and observe the root growth and the sprout of the eyes.
  4. When the plant has developed a good root system and at least three leaves grow on each bud, move it to a pot and cover the roots and potatoes with soil.
  5. When the vines grow to 8 to 10 inches long, cut off their ends to encourage thicker plants. Fertilize the plants regularly and enjoy beautiful results.
