15 Easy Sewing Projects for Kids
We’ve been learning how to sew for the past few months and we can’t lie, it’s not the easiest thing we’ve ever done. Even so, we still love every second of it. However, when we learn, we can’t help wishing that we learned the basics of good sewing techniques at a young age, as we still have many years to perfect and develop our skills. In fact, so many times we wish we had learned to sew from a young age that we actually decided to help our kids learn how to sew!
look at these 15 Very Easy Sewing Projects It’s fun for beginners and totally achievable, making them great projects for kids.
1. Cloud pillow

Charm Stitch will guide you through choosing interesting fabrics and cutting out two cloud shapes, then very simply sewing them together along the edges before filling and finishing. This is probably a better second or third project than the first because curves are involved and most beginners prefer to start with straight lines, but it’s definitely a super for people who are still learning Fun contender!
2. Simple Double Sided Scarf

If you’re going to learn how to sew, you might as well sew something you can actually use or wear, right? We think that while you’re learning and doing a lot, it’s also worth sewing something to make a great gift for those around you! 3. Waste Cloth Keychain

4. Nice fabric headband

Are you willing to let your kids start with something less expensive than fabric when you test if they really like sewing and want to stick with it? Some of the easiest things to sew are small fabric hoods and bags in simple square and rectangular shapes. Luckily for beginners, these are actually pretty useful sewing things too! We love the idea of Martha Stewart sewing simple fabric covers in different sizes and using them as beach covers for expensive electronics so they’re protected from the sand while you enjoy the sun.
8. Recycled shirt tote bag

Do you and your family have a bunch of old shirts that need to be upgraded or repurposed? Grab them and make them with your kids because if you find the right pattern, it’s like encountering free sewing fabrics! 13. Easy Flannel Hand Warmer

Some fabrics are harder to sew than others, or at least feel very different from the practice scraps you may have been practicing with your kids so far.
