Materials you need:
- Coordinating lint (at least 8 square inches)
- Embroidery thread
- large doll needle
- polyfilament
- Rotary cutter, acrylic ruler and cutting mat
Start by choosing 2 patterned fabrics that match the color scheme of your theme. If you want a fall pumpkin pincushion but with a Halloween twist, then add a touch of black. Red and green are a great choice for a festive pincushion to serve you during Christmas and New Years. Then there are beach pastels, perfect for a summer theme!
Once you’ve narrowed down the look you want to shoot, you can cut the fabric into circles, then cut each circle into four quarters. Rearrange the toe quarters to create a pincushion top and bottom pattern and start stitching. Now it’s time to fill it with polyfil and give the pincushion tentative shape.
