What could be more incredible than a handmade basket that can be used for a thousand and one purposes at home? So how about an amazing woven basket that’s actually just made of old recycled newspaper?

We’re all committed to making the most of our waste – especially things like newspapers, which are thrown into the trash every day by millions. By using this incredibly simple technique (see guide and illustrations), you’ll soon be able to turn those old newspapers into the most amazing creative craft projects that can bring wonderful new conveniences and decorating styles to your home!

Recycling newspapers in the laundry basket?

It’s an ancient technology that’s barely used today as it should. As you can see in the illustration, all you have to do is take old newspapers and roll them into tight tubes. After this, just use these tubes to weave the basket of your choice the same way you would wicker or plastic. You can paint the tubes any color you want, make any shape or size basket you want, and you’ll find yourself making dozens of amazing baskets with just a few standard sheets of newspaper! This is truly one of the best ways we’ve come across to give things that would otherwise go in the bin and an amazing second life as something else!
