DIY Decorative String Chandelier Made with Yarn and Balloons
These pendant lights are the perfect complement to the al fresco dining experience, but they’re just as beautiful indoors. Using a round balloon means you will have a perfectly round chandelier, and you can use any shape of balloon to create your own chandelier.

Decorative String Chandelier (Supplies)
Here’s what you need to create this stunning string chandelier.
- 1 plastic inflatable bouncy ball, any size (mine is 14″ in diameter)
- Any type of rope or yarn (you can use hemp, yarn, or even thread – I use red heart crochet thread from Walmart, about $2-3 for 1000 yards)
- School glue, approx. 4 oz
- Paper towels and/or rubber gloves (this is messy!)
- Lighting kit (I bought mine at Pier 1 for about $10)
