Easy DIY Pineapple Lampshade with a Spoon

We personally think nothing is too creative – especially when it comes to those simple and satisfying craft projects that produce awesome results like this one. You really couldn’t have guessed that this amazing pineapple lampshade is actually made from a bunch of plastic spoons and a water bottle – an amazing accessory you can make at home with bits and pieces you probably already have lying around .

Make Your Own Pineapple Lampshade

To put together this incredibly fruity feature, you’ll need the following:

  • any small table lamp
  • A plastic bottle (wide soda bottle)
  • about 125 plastic spoons
  • Spoon paint (yellow)
  • green cardboard
  • glue gun
  • craft knife
  • sharp scissors

direction:

  1. Make sure the bulb is unplugged before removing the current lamp cover. Do not plug in the light again until the project is completely complete.
  2. Use a craft knife to remove the bottom of the bottle and spout as shown.
  3. Carefully cut or break the end of the spoon from the handle, making sure not to leave any sharp edges or cracks.
  4. Spoon with yellow paint, coating as much shore as possible for a bright, even finish.
  5. Use a glue gun to attach the first layer of yellow spoon ends to the bottom of the bottle as shown.
  6. Continue adding additional spoon layers on top of the first layer.
  7. Use a green card to cut the pointy tops into the pineapple, making sure to leave a hole in the middle to avoid overheating.
  8. Use the same green card to make a series of green spines, bend them and glue them on top.
  9. Add any finishing touches as needed and give the new shade as much time as possible to dry before reinserting.
