Pulp Easter eggs for colorful holidays

🌐

Now the sun is out and there are a little more spring flowers only As the snow melted and began to peek, I was basically in full swing for Easter!

This special holiday has something so cheerful and celebratory that makes me excited to celebrate a new season full of colors and life. Most importantly, my children really like the whole concept of Easter Bunny and go looking for eggs! That’s why I always come up with cute Easter egg crafts at this time of the year that we can make together.

For projects that involve as many colors as possible, I always get extra points from them, because they are complete brightness lovers, and they will seize almost any opportunity to be creative as an opportunity to make a rainbow. This is how these super colorful little pulp eggs are born.

I’m the kind of craftsman who always likes to learn other people’s production tutorials, but I also like to make my own tutorials, so if other DY lovers want to try what I made, they can follow along.

These brightly colored tissue paper eggs are no exception, because I have all the opportunities in the world to document this process, because my children find them interesting and do a lot. Check out these step-by-step instructions with photos!

If you prefer to follow video tutorials instead of written text, please scroll to the bottom of this article to find what you are looking for.

For this project, you need:

  • Pulp Eggs (I bought mine at the crate store in the local seasonal section)
  • Colored tissues (how many colors do you like)
  • brush
  • Paper-cut glue (most school-style white liquid glue will work)
  • Scissors

step 1:

Collect your materials!

Step 2:

Start with thin paper of one color (I started with blue) and turn it lengthwise so that the longer edges are on the sides and the shorter edges are on the bottom and bottom. Use scissors to cut a strip about half an inch wide and full page height from the right, from top to bottom. Now, cut this strip into small squares. I tried to make my dimensions as uniform as possible, but in fact you don’t have to measure them precisely. My squares are each about half an inch tall to match the width of the strips I cut them. Brush these blocks aside temporarily for later use.

Step 3:

Repeat this strip and square cutting process with thin paper of each color! I used six colors in total—blue, green, yellow, orange, red, and pink—but you can use fewer, more, or different shades if you want. When you process the next sheet of paper, temporarily scoop each pile of colored tissue paper squares to one side until you get a square of each color.

Step 4:

Now you will cover the entire surface of the paper egg with a paper towel square! Our goal is to disperse, overlap and alternate them to get a cool and eclectic rainbow effect, so you are free to choose the color you think is best. First, use your paintbrush to apply some glue on the surface of the egg. The glue is enough to make the tissue stick very well, but not too viscous; you want to work in a thin layer.

Glue a piece of paper towel where you just applied the glue and place it as you like; the direction is not important, so don’t feel that you have to make things look straightforward. In fact, I think if they are a bit unstable, it actually looks better!Once you are satisfied with the way the square is placed, use the paintbrush to apply more glue Exceed Saturate the whole square a little bit, and then really paste it in place. Make sure that the edges of the square are stuck smoothly all the time.

Step 5:

Repeat this gluing, pasting, and pasting process with the second square. Feel free to overlap, change colors and alternate directions! Remember, our goal is to make the eggs look scattered, interesting and creative. If you want, you can also use squares of the same color to create larger patches in that shadow, and this is how I started. This gives me an almost striped effect!

Step 6:

Continue this process of gluing, pasting and pasting until your entire egg is covered by colored squares! The goal is to overlap your fragments so that the entire egg is covered and there is no white space to peek into. If you find a place where you think you need more colors, please feel free to go back and stack more works. You can also add more glue where the edges are loose or too dry to stick smoothly and appear to be peeling. Once you are satisfied with the coverage and appearance of the eggs, set the whole thing aside to dry.

Once your pulp and tissue paper eggs are dry, you can show them! Make a few and pile them in a basket, or spread them around the dining table, mantelpiece, and side table when you are accompanied on Easter.
