Do you feel the autumn breeze in the air? While we’re still in late summer, there’s one thing we’re looking forward to this coming season: fresh apples! Apple Juice, Apple Pie, Apple Chips, Apple Rose, Apple Chips. Now Cooking Light has come up with such a creative and tempting new dish – Hassle back Baked Apples! ! We’ve learned about hassle back potatoes before, and after watching this great video, this hassle back apples might just be the best apple recipe ever.

you need to:

  • 2 large, firm apples (Cooking Light recommends Pink Lady or Honeycrisp)
  • cooking spray
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar, divided
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons butter, melted and divided
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
  • 2 tablespoons old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 cups low-fat vanilla ice cream
